It’s very important that we communicate with students directly.  Although we encourage and welcome parent and guardian involvement, we need to know that the student is serious about taking responsibility for their future.  Realizing it can be difficult to make calls during school hours, consider asking your high school counseling office if you can make calls from their office on your lunch break or during study halls.  The exchange of certain information, like in the areas of financial aid and health insurance, will inevitably need input from parents and guardians.  But the majority of contact should be with the student planning to attend SUNY Potsdam.

While application deadlines are fast approaching for many other colleges, SUNY Potsdam’s rolling admissions policy allows us to continue accepting applications well into the future.  Although we strongly encourage students to submit their applications now, we also realize that plans can change.  Perhaps you have recently discovered our campus for the first time and the opportunities waiting here for you.  There is still time to visit the campus and apply for Spring 2009 or Fall 2009.  Check out these two links to get started:
