It’s very important that we communicate with students directly.  Although we encourage and welcome parent and guardian involvement, we need to know that the student is serious about taking responsibility for their future.  Realizing it can be difficult to make calls during school hours, consider asking your high school counseling office if you can make calls from their office on your lunch break or during study halls.  The exchange of certain information, like in the areas of financial aid and health insurance, will inevitably need input from parents and guardians.  But the majority of contact should be with the student planning to attend SUNY Potsdam.
