Our library collections are for sharing. When a book or other library material you need is checked out, you can place a request to get it as soon as it is returned. If you sign in to your library account when searching BearCat, you will have the option to request books while viewing their record. You can also ask staff at the Circulation or Reference Desks for a form to place a request, or, simply send us an e-mail at circ@potsdam.edu.

If you don’t place a hold request on checked out items, the current borrower has the option to renew or re-sign out the material.

Any questions? Please ask! We will work to get you to the resources you need for assignments and research!

With that research paper deadline approaching, you still may want to make an appointment with a librarian to get some help with the research process.  We try to respond as quickly as possible to these requests.

We regularly hear from the highest levels of government on the evening news, but there is a lot of useful information generated at all levels of government every day.  One way to search this vast collection is the search engine called usa.gov.  This allows browsing or searching; and don’t miss the options in the lower right corner to search state, local, or tribal governments.

Usa.gov is one of the links on the “General search databases” library web page.
