If anyone is having an issue logging into the Mac side between now and Monday just have them log into the Windows side. There as an issue with the Active Directory concerning the Mac OS. It is resolving itself, but slowly. It may or may not cause a problem with logging into the Mac side but this is just a heads up “In Case”

Printer #3- crbstd-3- is showing an error message that says there is a paper jam in the 1st drawer. No paper can be found jammed in any area in or around drawer 1. I have placed an Out of Order sign on it and set it to reject jobs. There is a ticket in with CTS.

The imaging unit in printer #2 has exceeded it’s life s the printer has stopped printing. I have ordered a new imaging unit that should be in soon. Until then I have set the printer to reject jobs and put an out of order sign on it

The Lorax2 print server is currently down. CTS is working on the problem. It is campus wide and there is no ETA as to when it will be restored

I spoke with the Image Integrator Tech and he will be coming on Friday October 27th to do some upgrades on the ZETA Scanner. In the mean time there are some trouble shooting procedures I will be doing. If the scanner freezes as it has been doing randomly or it asks for an admin password or gives an error, do a hard shut down. In the back of the scanner near where the power cord plugs in is a white power button. Press it and hold it for 30 seconds until the machine completely shuts down. Then press it again to restart the scanner and it should start functioning again. Please do not press the button hard or it will damage the internal switch

You may notice the color printer is saying to replace the cyan, yellow, and magenta Drum Toner Cartridges. These are not the toner cartridges, they are something different. The drum cartridges are on request from CTS and will be in shortly. The printer will continue to print in the mean time

Printer 1 has a message that an Imaging unit is low. I have ordered one from CTS and it should be here soon. Until then the printer will continue to print. Printer 3 has been set to reject jobs. The Maintenance kit on order with CTS should be here very soon but the current one has exceeded it’s recommended life so it has stopped printing.

Several students have reported that they weren’t getting any new emails in their inbox. Upon investigation it seems any new emails were being sent directly to their “Deleted items” folder. CTS believes this is the result of possibly responding to a Phishing scam of some sort and have developed instructions on how to correct this. They are lengthy but talk the students through it:

1) Sign into the Web Portal (not their phone, computer, or other device).

2) Click Email

3) From the Gear menu in the upper right, click it, choose Mail

4) Expand Mail, then Automatic Processing, and look at InBox and Sweep Rules

5) There will likely be a rule in there to delete/move messages

 

If you get stuck and can’t figure it out please direct the student to the CTS Helpdesk during their hours of operation- 8am to 4:30pm. There is no need to continue reporting more instances of this as CTS is already aware of the problem and dealing with it. Thanks

The black drum cartridge for the color printer has been ordered. Please remember this is NOT the same thing as the black toner cartridge.
