There is a warning on the printer status page for the student use color printer and on the printer window itself that states to “Prepare black drum cartridge-replace soon”. I have the replacement however CTS has informed me that when this message is seen, there is still approximately 1000 more prints available before it actually needs replacement. When it gets to that point I will replace it but in the mean time if you see this warning it is not a cause for concern

There are numerous tickets in to CTS – First printer-mrt133-1(crbstd-3) is at CTS for repair. The Windows OS is not connecting to the printers even when the patrons reboot so if they ask for help please install the crbstdnt printer for them( go to the start menu- in the search box type in “\\lorax” then press enter. When the window with the printer list opens double click on crbstdnt. Once it installs-takes about 20 seconds-  close out the windows and it should appear as a printer option). The signs are back up asking students not to print double sided due to paper jams. Lastly if any patrons come in and ask if they can print off an entire textbook that their professor uploaded to Moodle- the answer for now is No.

The new iMacs that allow you to log into the Windows OS will not return to the dual boot screen after logging out, they stay on the Windows log in screen. CTS is aware and working on it. For now a hard shut down (Hold down the power button until it turns the computer off) and then start will boot the computer up and open the dual boot screen

The iMacs that were already here in the library are experiencing an issue with the Windows OS. Patrons are able to log into the Mac OS but when they attempt to log into Windows the screen goes black and has text at the top that says “The Operating System is missing”. You can do a hard restart and it will return to the dual boot screen so that the Mac side may be used. CTS is aware and are now working to fix the problem. The iMacs that were just imaged are working fine on both OS’s
